Your Tips for Staying Cool and Hydrated During Live Music Festivals

by | Jul 6, 2021 | Music Festival

If you are considering attending an Indianapolis music festival this summer, you will need to take a few precautions to ensure that you can enjoy the experience without any problems. Remember, these festivals re primarily outdoor events, which means that you will need to take a little extra care to remain cool, hydrated, and comfortable while you are attending the show.

Here are a few quick tips to stay comfortable all day while you enjoy the live music festival:

Seek Out Shade

It may sound obvious but finding a shaded or partially shaded area has several benefits. First, it will help you stay cooler and more comfortable. Second, it will protect you from at least some of the sun’s rays making sunburn less likely. Remember to wear sunscreen regardless, though, since shade may not be readily available!

Wear Protective Gear

This does not mean you have to wear a hazmat suit to keep yourself safe. Instead, opt for a wide-brimmed hat – or at least a cap with a bill to protect your face – and sunglasses.

Choose Comfortable Clothes

Look for clothing to wear that are breezy and lightweight to ensure that you do not overheat during your stay at the festival. For women, a sundress or shorts and a breezy shirt might be a good choice. For men, opt for shorts and a t-shirt. Keep shoes comfortable and supportive to prevent aching feet at the end of the day.

Bring Your Own Water

If you are permitted to do so, bring your own water supply to the concert. Otherwise, you might be stuck in long lines or paying unreasonably high prices for water at the event – or you might not have access to it at all!

Water is especially important since you will likely be perspiring during the show and will need to replenish the hydration in your system. No need to get dehydrated and too hot; just follow these tips and stay comfortable and cool while you take in the show!
